Go West Young Man (& Woman)!

We were given two choices of where we were could be stationed: Abilene, TX or Albuquerque, NM. I'll give you a hint of which one we chose: It starts with an "A" and ends with an "E". (That joke was from Daniel...and you thought he wasn't funny!)

So which one did we choose?

ALBUQUERQUE, NM!!!!

Although Kirtland AFB (Albuquerque) wasn't even on our list, it appears that God chose better than we could have!

Albuquerque is located in between two mountain ranges and is divided by the Rio Grande. The climate is desert and more mild than Syracuse, but NM experiences all four seasons. There are more than 500,000 people in the city, which is supposed to be very diverse and have a strong Spanish influence. It is a much shorter flight (and cheaper!) to CA and only about 11-12 hours driving to LA! (Just a tad closer than 2700 miles).

The only thing tempering our excitement is thought of leaving behind our friends and our church. We've jokingly talked about stealing away the people we love and taking them with us...but it still wouldn't be Syracuse.

For someone like me, who HATES change, God has really been teaching me to trust Him. He has really transformed my heart regarding this move and has opened my eyes to see the blessing in following Him, despite the sacrifices.

I am not in the mood to start saying good-bye and becoming all nostalgic and teary-eyed. So for now, I'm just going to celebrate the future and savor the moment with our friends here!
