I've come across a new product that I think is worth sharing! CleanWell is an all-natural hand sanitizer that is 99.99% effective, but doesn't have any alcohol or any toxins in it. It uses a blend of essential oils that are natural disinfectants. I guess most disinfectants have chemicals called Triclosin and Triclocarbon which have been linked to breast cancer, thyroid issues and other malignancies. It's particularly harmful for women (including little girls) because it effects estrogen and androgen levels. I've also heard about anti-bacterial hand wash being bad for the environment because of the chemicals getting washed down the drain.
The company is giving me free samples to use in my Baby Signs Classes, so I'm pretty excited! They have hand sanitizer and hand soap which I think I'll be using at home as well. I've been wanting to switch to regular soap, but what are you supposed to do in the kitchen when you're dealing with things like raw meat and stuff? This is a perfect solution!
