Anu will be starting her own business soon, complete with her own website! It's called Baby Signs, a program co-founded by a psychologist who is married to the psychologist Anu worked for while in undergrad at UC Davis.
In a nutshell, it's sign language for hearing babies. Psychologists have realized that babies' cognitive abilities outpace their verbal language skills. Through Baby Signs, parents and babies can communicate to each other far before the little ones can talk. This means less frustration experienced by everyone and less anxiety for babies, because they can communicate their needs.
Isn't this awesome?! Equally awesome is the fact that the U.S. military has begun pilot programs implementing Baby Signs at child development centers on bases around the world. So wherever we go with the Air Force, Anu can take her business with her!
Anu is in the process of being certified. We'll post more when things are up and running.
