My name is _____, and I am a blogoholic: Part 1

Ever since we found out that we were having Baby DnA, I started searching online for free stuff. This need for free stuff is not a new disease. I'm one of those crazy people that registers daily to win the HGTV Dream Home, and then emails a reminder to the rest of the family to do the same! Daniel calls me cheap...I prefer frugal! (I know that he secretly appreciates my mad skill!)

Anyways, I thought, "Surely, there have to be sweepstakes for baby stuff. I mean imagine if I won a year's worth of diapers!" Well there are many great giveaways with stuff that's so much cooler than diapers! Babies 'R Us, The Land of Nod, and Even Old Navy had some fantastic and pricey sweepstakes. However, I've discovered that the best place to find giveaways were...blogs!

I have discovered a whole network of blogging mothers, most of who stay at home with their children, but put all their energy into keeping up these fantastic blogs. These mothers review products for various companies and then work out a deal to give a product or two away to their readers. Is that a cool gig or what?! I get great mother-approved advice on a multitude of products and get the opportunity to possibly win some free stuff in the process!

While I have been growing my addiction to all these wonderful blogs, I discovered another exciting realm of the blogosphere. There's a whole world of Christian blogging mothers! I feel like I'm making friends with some of the most amazing families! They share little pieces of their lives with each other and are able to encourage each other through their faith.

I'm planning on adding to our blogroll so you can meet some of these great bloggers, but there's one particular family I particularly love and that is in desperate need of prayer. The blog is called My Charming Kids and is authored by MckMama. She lovingly refers to her family members as Prince Charming, Big Mack, MckNugget, Small Fry, and MckMuffin. Right now 4 month-old Stellan (MckMuffin) is in the hospital with heart problems and they aren't sure if he is going to make it. Her testimony has been incredible throughout this whole thing, but I know that in part this is due to the hundreds of people praying for them. If you get a chance, please check out their blog (www.mycharmingkids.net) and offer up a prayer for this family.

In Part 2, I will return to my addiction and dish on all the free stuff I've been talking about!
