Rose-Colored Glasses

This past weekend, Daniel and I were driving out to Clark State Reservation, a NY State Park only five minutes from our apartment.  The conversation went something like this:

"Wow!  I don't think we've ever had such a beautiful fall out here!  Wow!  Look at all the reds and oranges!  Wow!  Look!  It's breathtaking!"

(It's amazing that Daniel managed to stay on the road during this).  This conversation went on for a few minutes with all the wowing.  We just couldn't get over how brilliant everything looked...until Daniel said, "Do you think it's our sunglasses?"  It took us that long to realize that both of our sunglasses had a brownish tint to them and were making everything look a little bit more vivid in color!  It was more than a small let-down to take the glasses off.  The above picture was taken in Syracuse, so we still rate this fall as the most beautiful we've gotten to experience.  But the glasses did offer a kind of "glow".  I'll probably enjoy the rest of this fall weather with my glasses on, but at least I'll now be aware of my "enhanced" vision!
