Ali and Jafar

Our Afghan linguists often use nicknames that are easier for us to pronounce...and protect their true identities (and families).  So, you can imagine the chuckles that arose during the meeting (mostly from me) when we heard that our two newest linguists go by Ali and Jafar.  That's right, Ali and Jafar (pronounced JAH-fer).  :o)

 

 

To be fair, both are very, very nice guys and Jafar is much, much nicer than his Aladdin counterpart.  Then again, I've never seen him around a Macaw, so...
