Major, major hat tip to our services squadron.  They really did all they could to bring America to Turkey so we could all celebrate Independence Day at a community park about a block from our house!  There were bounce houses (good for endless entertainment for Elijah), All-American food (hot dogs, hamburgers, root beer floats, lemonade, ice cream, etc.), dunk tank, face painting and fireworks! It's easy to take fireworks on the 4th for granted, but it was really special to have fireworks just for our little community on base.  This was a first for Elijah, and even Zeke was mesmerized for a little while!

The major event was that American Idol World Tour performed!  We had no idea who any of them were, (we apparently missed watching this last season), but it was really nice, especially when two of them sang, "I Will Follow".  Plus, they sang, "Life is a Highway" and Elijah and his buddy, William, ran around singing and using their glow sticks as microphones!
