Early Morning Heart Attack

I am certainly not known for my green thumb, but that doesn't mean I don't try. My attempt at gardening includes an upside-down tomato plant that hangs from the overhang in our patio. I was hoping to prevent the bunnies from eating my plant and the infomercials made it look so easy! I think we put in Solar Fire and Early Girl varieties. I have been dreaming up large, juicy tomatoes, but the plant looks quite pitiful. I'd like to blame some of it on our fluctuating weather. I would include a picture, but it's just too embarrassing!

Anyways, I put Elijah down to play with his favorite toy...the remote control...and went outside to water the tomato plant. After giving it plenty of water, I notice that our bird feeder was empty.

As a brief aside, we are NEVER going to have a bird feeder again!! It's as if we are infested! We have about 15-20 birds at a time (making the cats practically delirious) and they are just the rudest guests ever! They make such a huge mess, and I certainly don't need to add to my list of responsibilities. (I feel like I have 3 children already).

Back to my story, I noticed the bird feeder was empty so I took it down in order to refill it. As pick up the large bag of bird seed, I get the scare of my life as out jumps a small gray mouse! If you know me at all, you know that I cannot stand creepy crawly things, including all rodents. Soooo....I can't believe I'm going to say this....but it was so cute! It was a little baby and looked just like they do in children's books! He probably thought he was in heaven in that bag full of seed! It froze and checked me out for about a full minute, before taking off. I went from freaked out-of-my-mind to, "Awww, it's a baby!" Maybe these maternal hormones are a little out of control!

So to feed those maternal instincts, I have the latest Elijah video for you! He's learning to get up on his hands and knees!

Oliver is currently watching this video for the third time, clapping and saying "yay!" He's very happy for Elijah. :) And now he's waving at him. So HI! big-boy-who's-almost-crawling Elijah! Nice to see you. Growing so fast!
