Elijah is 7 weeks old today! I was able to capture this tiny hint of a smile, although Daniel is the one who got full out smiles this past Sunday. Elijah’s a little young for social smiling, but these were definitely the real thing! He’s beginning to track and focus more on objects put in front of him, so we’re slowly bringing out the rattles and stuffed animals to see what he likes. His over-eager parents could barely contain themselves from already buying him more toys!
My mom (Ammama) got 3 weeks with Elijah before my dad and sister came to join us and celebrate Elijah’s 1 month b’day!
We then went to Old Town Albuquerque to celebrate my sister’s b’day as well. Daniel and I were thrilled that Elijah slept the whole time we were there. It was an ambitious outing for a one-monther!
Just as my family was leaving, Daniel’s mom came to help us for a week. We truly appreciated all her help and loved watching her get to know Elijah. I think Ricky enjoyed spending time with her too!
Things are going much smoother for us now that Elijah’s a little bit older and we’re communicating better. I’ve been focusing on understanding his cries and other cues, and he’s been sleeping longer stretches at night, so we’re all a lot happier! He had his first snow a couple days ago (No, I didn’t take him outside) as well as his first costume party with people at our church.
Meanwhile, we’ve been enjoying lots of snuggles and watching the little E-man grow!
