I've been back home for close to 2 weeks now and so much had happened! I flew back at 34 weeks and am very glad that I did. To give you an idea of how helpless I've been feeling lately, I had to have a nice lady at airport security tie my shoes for me because I couldn't bend over quite that far! I am growing by the week day and my poor belly can barely keep up. (My loving sister said that I looked like I have an actual basketball under my shirt...I feel like the whole basketball team is hiding out under there!) The above picture is at 35 weeks and I am completing 36 weeks as of today.
It has been a HUGE blessing to have my mom here with me. (She flew in at the same time I did and will be with me until Daniel returns this weekend.) I am definitely moving at half-speed, so what has been accomplished in a week and a half would have taken me so much longer (or been impossible) on my own. We did at least 4 loads of laundry for this baby who has yet to be born! Things had not been organized since the baby shower, so we spent a lot of time cutting off tags, removing packaging, and figuring out the best places for things. We also did a lot of shopping for essentials (like sheets and diapers), while perusing a lot of non-essentials! So, I am so happy to announce that the baby's room is essentially complete!
Notice my packed suitcase...I'm ready!

The crib bedding is complete, aside from attaching bumper ties.

My oh-so-comfortable glider has items made by both grandmas! And I have "Baby Einstein's Lullaby Classics" ready to play....although, I have to admit I've already been listening to it!
Yesterday, was a big day both here in NM and in AL. First of all, Daniel was promoted to Captain! Captain Briggs!I'm really liking the sound of that! I can't wait until he's home and we can celebrate together! He graduates from JASOC tomorrow and then immediately begins the long drive home...with the foosa crying all the way. =) My husband really loves me!
The big news, here in NM, came at the doctor's appointment yesterday morning. It appears that the baby has dropped, I'm dilated almost 2 centimeters and 70%-80% effaced! The fact that I was surprised wasn't super huge. The fact that the doctor looked very surprised was a bit more revealing. He was highly doubtful I'd make it until the due date. I told him that I wanted Daniel home before we had this baby and the doctor suggested not taking any more long walks until Daniel got home!! I've talked to a lot of people who have been slightly dialated for a few weeks without anything happening, so we'll have to see what God has in store. Meanwhile, we wouldn't mind if you prayed for Daniel to at least make it back in time! I can't express how grateful I am that the baby's room is at least together! There are a few more things to go up on the walls, but at least the essentials are all in place.
