Valentine's Day Storm

This was the biggest storm we have ever experienced! We woke up to about a foot of snow on the ground. Our Subaru is in the shop so we're stuck with the dinky rental and had to dig out. Half an hour later, we finally exited the parking lot and slowly crept towards school and work. Wouldn't you know? The law school canceled classes for only the second time in 27 years...giving Daniel lots of study time.

After work, Anu had to go through the same thing all over again, only worse...what felt like another foot of snow to dig out. And with the wind gusting at 35 mph, it looks and feels like more. The car got stuck on the way out of the parking lot and all Anu had was a 16-inch brush...not good. A good samaritan helped shovel the car out. And then she was home free! Not quite...We live on top of a hill. It took three people (and salt) to push the car up the hill to our apartment; we certainly miss our all-wheel drive! All in all, it took an hour for Anu to drive 5 miles. What a day!

If some pictures are worth a thousand words...
